Boxxxy

A hospitality location is a valuable addition to any shopping center, enhancing the shopping experience and increasing dwell time. But the inner courtyard of – in this case – a furniture retail park does not generally have a construction permit or hospitality zoning to create a restaurant on-site.

We solved this issue with a movable, semi-permanent solution using linked containers – a so called “container village”. And created and delivered a turnkey F&B concept to be able to offer customers food and drinks while shopping. Looking like an actual restaurant instead of a food stall or a mobile pickup point.

A flexible concept, built to last

The Boxxxy concept is suitable for high-traffic locations such as shopping centers and business areas, campuses and leisure environments – inspired by Boxpark London. It contains both refrigerated and dry storage, and of course we incorporated technical space into the design. All the neccessary facilities are in place, as well as all the required preconditions for hospitality environments. Just like a permanent restaurant, with one key difference: it  wasn’t built on a foundation.

We created the Boxxxy concept, made the drawings, crafted the design and built it from the ground up. In this case, we also provided operators, operation guidance, continuous optimization and operational support. It turned out to be a very complete, yet flexible and adaptable concept.
